A Monotreme Encounter

Went camping for four days.

Amazing bush, wallabies, birds, crawly critters, cooking over an open fire, inflatable mattresses deflating overnight, kids playing, red wine, rain, leaking tents, walking, exploring, Satin Bower Birds stealing fruit, friendly campers, eccentric National Parks guides, marshmallows, Mr Tree

This little guy was too close to the road and we escorted him safely away. When he saw us coming, he went looking for places to hide…

A Prickly Situation

Obviously, Echidna’s can’t see in the daylight very well!

Of the female variety and hungry for knowledge, truth and love.

Ive come across one of these just twice in the bush, one younger specimen intent on making the usual pin cushion ball no matter how well I handled it and a much larger one that pretty much ignored me even when I was carrying it off the road for the grand kids to see. It allowed us to have a good close look without freaking at all. How wonderful our animals really are..
